Dinner with friends!

Björg and Steini invited all of us to a nice meal this week to celebrate my birtday and catch up with each others news. Björg is busy buying flight tickets and booking nice restaurants abroad ... London, Glasgow, Brazil! Amazing plans!

Super Weekend :)

My birthday weekend was one long treat!

First a birthday party at my parents' house with a lovely meal, chocolate cake and everything. Emma and Albert joined us for coffee and it was nice to see them as always.

Kids woke me up on Saturday morning with a birthday song, scrambled eggs made by Eiríkur and a toast made by Sandra. Rebekka gave me a nice disc with Hafdís Huld. Such a treat. Sandra cooked lunch (Sop Mie a la Indonesia) and then the kids left Hringbraut to spend the rest of the weekend with David.

The rest of the weekend was spent hiking in the sunshine, fine dining, drinking red wine and sleeping late. Lots of birthday treats and good wishes from friends. A perfect birthday weekend. Hugs and kisses to everyone :)

Back at school!

We are all back at school - and still smiling :)

Vesturbæjarskóli started again yesterday.

Sandra is very happy with her old class and same teacher!!! Sigga Nanna is a lovely teacher and we cannot be more pleased!

Eiríkur's class was divided and he has a new teacher whose name is Guðný. This is his fifth year at Vesturbæjarskóli - and his fifth teacher as well... lets hope she lasts the year!!!! He did have a good first day of school but is aware that this year he will have to study even harder than before.

Rebekka is back at MR. She is now doing Náttúrufræði II and is in a new class with her friend Katarina. Third year of MR just starting - she is half way to getting to University!

And I am back at Kennó - will be working towards an MA this year and not an MEd. Typical for me to jump into the deep end... lets see if I can swim in the academic pool :) I have also started my school year with the International School and really looking forward to an interesting winter.

P.S. It is my birthday on Saturday.... and I have decided to go into hiding on that day so no party this time :)

International School of Iceland

I have just attended my first staff meeting at the International School of Iceland as the new teacher for Icelandic studies. I am very excited about starting the school year!!!! Wish me luck...

Kids are back!

Harvest day at Skólagarðar in the afternoon. Now we will have to be very good at eating our veggies!

I went to the Blue Lagoon yesterday morning with a group of Germans from MS Bremen. Interesting to speak German again... I quite fancy going an a longer tour with German to get really going again with the language :)

Weekend of Work & Play :)

Nice weekend, busy with work as always but with a lot nice and fun moments.

Friday:
Dinner at the Pakistani restaurant Shalimar with a friend and the movie Becoming Jane afterwards. Lovely evening, thanks :)

Saturday:
Gay Pride with my darling Rebekka. Colourful and happy parade and lots of girlie giggles. Nice meeting with friends in the evening and after the visit a late night walk at Seltjarnarnes was well received.

Sunday
Working with AIDA Vita was a pleasure as the sun was shining and everyone in a happy mood. Another walk in the evening, this time in Heiðmörk by Elliðavatn and a quick dinner afterwards. A nice ending to a good weekend.

The BBQ was great fun - it neither rained nor snowed... and it wasn't even very cold either :) We ended up going swimming at Laugardalslaug until 10:30 in the evening with a part of the group which was great fun!

BBQ in the Rain...

A group of friend planned some days ago to meet in Heiðmörk for a BBQ. We have decided to go ahead and meet despite the rain...

Will keep you posted but rainwear will certainly be needed :)

Already August!

I can't believe we have already August - which means autumn is just around the corner... as well as my birthday!

It has been mainly work but some play since my last blog but the main new is that my kids are back in Hringbraut!!!!

The weekend was spent in Vík with a group of friends, 17 adults and as many kids were gathered there for food and fun :) Thank you Stefán and Henny for being such great hosts.

Dinner last night was also really nice - Bjössi invited us along with Sissa and Kristján to his house for a dinner with his kids. Nice food, great company and the music was much appreciated! We now wait for the rhubarb wine to be ready - if it is as good as the dandy-lion liquier then we will be very happy :)

Another dinner is planned tonight - this time at my parents house. Lovely new fish is on the menu and the salat is straight from the kids garden. Yummy!!
