A Movie on a Monday!

We saw an interesting movie on Monday - In the Valley of Elah - Tommy Lee Jones was really good as the ex-military police man and the stern father figure!!!

A night out :)

Stefán invited a group of people over to his place for a nice BBQ dinner... really feels like summer to sit down to a second BBQ dinner this week, the first one being at my parents on Thursday to celebrate the official beginning of summer.

I then went with Heiða and some of her friends for a night out on town - great fun doing some bar hopping with giggles. Met my co-teacher Russell and his friend and we just could not stop laughing at his stories!!!!

Today is a lovely sunshiny day - better make the most of it :)

The Rolling Stones!

I saw the Martin Sorceses' movie Shine a Light last night - and enjoyed it very much. There is still life in the old boys :)

Spent the day doing some garden work, lovely weather!

Eiríkur's Performance

Eiríkur did really well at Krakkalist II on Tuesday night. He was a real star singing "Horfðu til himins" and we enjoyed the whole evening very much! Amazing to see how much the kids are learning each year about acting, singing and dancing and all this progress :)

Can't wait until the next performance!

Friday:
Disco Bowling until late night and a spin on the dance floor of Thorvaldsen bar...

Saturday:
Painting and working at home and then a great show at Borgarleikhúsið theatre "Jesus Christ Superstar" with friends...

Sunday:
Left Reykjavík at 08:30 and stood on top of Mt. Hekla (1490 m) at 17:30. Nine hour work all together in all weathers and lots of snow. Half the group made it to the top... yours truly included. Jeeps got stuck, the wind blew, fog crept over the mountain, deep snow... but great company and a super day. Home at midnight!

Eiríkur's party!

Eiríkur invited several friends for a movie and pizza at Smáralind mall! They saw the movie "Superhero Movie" and seemed to have had a jolly good time :)

Sandra and I decided to go to the movies as well and saw the movie "Horton hears a Who" (Dr. Seuss), sweet and fun!

This marks the end of the 4 day festival to celebrate Eiríkur's 13th birthday!

Sandra and Silja were lovely at the ballet show! We are sooooo proud of both of them :)

Eiríkur's birthday!

Eiríkur celebrated his birthday yesterday - 13 on the 13th :)

We had deceded to go out of town with a group of friends so the birthday weekend was spent in a summerhouse near Laugarvatn. We had a super weekend, lots of walks, games, nice food, jacuzzi moments and of course a birthday party! The main surprise was all the snow we had on Sunday when we needed to rush back to town so Sandra join her last practice for her big ballet moment! It also snowed the day Eiríkur was born so in a way it was appropriate!

When we came back on Sunday the party moment continued at Vesturberg with the family. Eiríkur got his favorit food and a chocolate cake for desert and great presents.

Thank you everyone for making this weekend so memorable for all of us!

All in a day's work...

Teaching, teachers' meetings, babysitting, shopping, fixing cars, plastering, painting, cooking, washing, cleaning, walking the dog.... The show must go on :)

A great movie!

I was just in the mood for a good movie on Monday night so going to see Definitaly, Maybe turned out to be a good choise... First had dinner with Sissa and then on to the movies with Sissa, Hermann and Monica. A film to be recommended :)

Also enjoyed a nice walk in Elliðaárdalur tonight in good company and a swim with Sandra and a meal with my parents afterwards!

"Twin Peaks" and three parties :)

The hike:
Today we hiked on the mouintain "Skarðsheiði" - and managaed two peaks, "Skarðshyrna" and "Heiðarhorn" (1055 m) in 6,5 hours. We had a super day trying out our crampons and ice picks! There may be some pictures posted later this week!

Party one:
My old neighbours from Vesturberg 142 met on Friday night for a great soup and endless jokes at Sigrún and Atli's house. Thanks for your hospitality!

Party two:
Emma's 50th birthday was a success, loved the bubbles ;)

Party three:
Held at Linda's house, chats music and dancing but I did not stay until late because of the "Twin Peak" walk.
