Up North in the Cold!

Spent the weekend in Akureyri looking after Aida Aura and Astor. Drove up there on Friday night with a short stop at Hvammstangi to see the old mill.
Enjoyed a trip to Árskógsströnd and Dalvík on Saturday, nice pool in Dalvík! A good weekend in the snow :)

More birthday kids!

As I had gone fishing on June 17th I missed the first birthday party of Dora and Gummi's beautiful twins Lára Guðbjörg and Theodór. Look how much they have grown!

A birthday party!

Rebekka and I went to Soffia Sara's 8th birthday. We were happy to see all these lovely kids, especially Þorkell and Sigrún's beautiful daughters Jóhanna, Gunnhildur and Erla who live in Richmond VA.

Thank you for inviting us :)

A Requiem for Father Georg

I attended, with Rebekka and my mother, the requiem and funeral of our dear Father George at the Catholic church of Landakot. I didn't mean to cry but I did...

Father Ágúst Georg was born April 5th 1928 and died June 16th 2008 and served as a priest for 52 years, most of the time in Iceland. He was the last Montefort priest in Iceland. We will miss him and his kindness dearly and he will surely be remembered in our prayers.

Mt Helgafell

An evening walk on Helgafell by Hafnarfjörður was pleasant and it was fun to try new routes! Coming down through the open natural gate was exciting :)

A cup of tea and a long chat afterwards was also much appreciated.

THE WEDDING!

Congratulations Anna & Jói! Such a beautiful day, June 21st and a great party :) Thx for the photos Heiða :)

The longest day of the year...

The sun was amazing at midnight and the beach quiet and beautiful at Álftanes.

Nice to discover a new spot for an evening stroll...

Music for the soul!

Just came back from the James Blunt concert with Rebekka and Sissa. We smiled, cried, laughed, sang and danced. Brilliant night.

This one was a really sad one :(

Did I disappoint you or let you down?
Should I be feeling guilty or let the judges frown?
'Cause I saw the end before we'd begun,
Yes I saw you were blinded and I knew I had won.
So I took what's mine by eternal right.
Took your soul out into the night.
It may be over but it won't stop there,
I am here for you if you'd only care.
You touched my heart you touched my soul.
You changed my life and all my goals.
And love is blind and that I knew when,
My heart was blinded by you.
I've kissed your lips and held your head.
Shared your dreams and shared your bed.
I know you well, I know your smell.
I've been addicted to you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

I am a dreamer but when I wake,
You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take.
And as you move on, remember me,
Remember us and all we used to be
I've seen you cry, I've seen you smile.
I've watched you sleeping for a while.
I'd be the father of your child.
I'd spend a lifetime with you.
I know your fears and you know mine.
We've had our doubts but now we're fine,
And I love you, I swear that's true.
I cannot live without you.

Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.

And I still hold your hand in mine.
In mine when I'm asleep.
And I will bear my soul in time,
When I'm kneeling at your feet.
Goodbye my lover.
Goodbye my friend.
You have been the one.
You have been the one for me.
I'm so hollow, baby, I'm so hollow.
I'm so, I'm so, I'm so hollow.

Work, work, work!

Work and no play these days...

I am once more meeting the cruise ships that visit Iceland :) Sunday was spent looking after the Mona Lisa and Oriana. Next on the list are Adriana and Aida Aura, both caught in bad weather out on sea and are changing their schedules left, right and centre!

Eiríkur's graduation!

Congratulation Eiríkur - it is such a strange feeling to be at Eiríkur's graduation from Vesturbæjarskóli... Hagaskóli is just around the corner and before I know Eiríkur will be a grown-up!

Another observation!

My not-so-sexy-but-very-warm woolens from Ellingsen bought esp. for Hnjúkurinn are brilliant for fast motorcycle rides!

Advertisments...

I must say that I am very proud of the fact that the advertisments on my page have been changed by Google. Instead of ads for Farmholidays in Iceland Google is now putting ads for climbs on Mount Blanc, MacKinley, Kilimanjaro, Elbrus etc!!!!

I am not quite there yet but had to smile when I saw it!

And two movies :)

We saw Indiana Jones on Wednesday - it suffers from being number four in the series but I still had a good evening. I also went to the movies over the weekend with my co-workers from the International School (as well as Rebekka) to see Sex and the City. That one was a good laugh even though I am not really a great Sex and the City fan!

Akrafjall

The mountain of the weekend was Akrafjall. We hiked to the two peaks, one on each side of the mountain - Háitindur approx 500 m and Geirmundartindur approx 600 m. Ásta sent these lovely photos, thank you so much!
