Sandra and Silja danced like little angels at Borgarleikhúsið on Tuesday - we were all so proud of them!

Movies

I saw two movies over the weekend - Wild Hogs which was surprisingly entertaining and Lady Chatterley in French (part of the French Film Festival in Háskólabíó) which I enjoyed very much!

Saturday in the Rain

Eiríkur missed his music performance today as he was up most of the night with stomach cramps. He is feeling a bit better, but still not eating much and feeling weak and tired.

I plan to spend the day studying - and then go for a quick swim in the afternoon in the rain. Not really the day for the outdoors!

Have a nice weekend everyone :)

A whole week...

... went by in a flash! We have all been very busy with schools and work and all sorts of extra programmes.

Sandra is preparing for her final ballet show at Borgarleikhúsið on Tuesday, Eiríkur will be drumming tomorrow morning with his band and getting ready for his drama performance on April 3rd and I have been busy studying and also teaching first grade.

Yebb - I have been "teaching" six year olds for the past few days. Great fun, but they are mighty small and need a lot of help with gloves, zippers, wet socks and lids on the yogurt containers :)

Emma Katrín

Sad news reached us at Hringbraut today. Emma Katrín, the 8 year old daughter of Gísli and Gréta, has been diagnosed with von Recklinghausen disease. There is nothing we can do but send strenght and positive thoughts to this little girl from all of us.

Sunday, then on to Monday...

Another weekend has passed. A part from a trip to the swimming pool, a walk in Kópavogur and an evening at a coffeeshop, the nicest part of the weekend was Saturday night!

The Geographical Dinner Club (AKA UrbSw)finally held its second meeting, this time at Hringbraut with a Swiss theme. Raclette, chokolate and Alpine music. Many interesting discussions could be heard around the table, including debates on subjects as diverse as twins, Kays Cataloges, "glópar" and apples vs. onions...

Eiríkur's drumset was discovered at 1:30 in the morning and the band KÁV was formed instantly. I hope my tenants still want to rent the downs stairs flat. The evening ended at Vínbarinn and Domo - where the lucky few who were still standing got to shake hands with "Geir Ólafsson". That was certainly the highlight of the evening :)

The Friday Night Movie

This time it was Music & Lyrics. I must admit that it was a good laugh!

After the movie I stopped by at Elísabet's house to wish her a happy birthday. Great to see her friends and family gathered at her house and it was really enjoyable.

P.S. I ate far too much of the lovely fruit she had put on the table!

Eragon - status report

Eiríkur and I have read 468 pages of Eragon so far - only 32 pages to go before we can start on the second one in the series (The Eldest) which is over 600 pages if I remember correctly...! We love the story :)

Fimmvörðuháls

Nice meeting here at my house last night, some friends came over to plan Sunday walks in the summer. It is a shame that I will not be able to join many of them!! But I have signed up for "Fimmvörðuháls" on June 22nd with Útivist and looking very much forward to it !!!

A New Day!

All kids went to school today so I can continue to work on my paper for the course on the world's religions. I am writing about religion and marriage - how appropriate :) I am learning a lot of new things at the same time as really enjoying the research!

Happy little Sandra

Sandra is feeling much better - but staid home from school today as she has not eaten anything since Saturday. To make up for a dull weekend she has made her mother play the "Olsen, Olsen" card game at least a hundred times...!

School for everyone tomorrow!!!

Sad little Sandra

It has not been a good weekend for Sandra and she is feeling very sad because she is ill. Poor little thing has had an headache since Wednesday and has now been ill in her stomach since yesterday. And this is what she has missed so far:

# A trip to the pool
# Playing with her friend Sólveig María
# Singing with the school choir at Dómkirkjan
# Going to a puppet theatre to see "Peter and the Wolf" with Rebekka, Eiríkur, Silja and Axel.
# Having dinner with amma and afi

Eiríkur on the other hand got to go to the theatre AND have dinner with amma and afi - and here is the proof of him being fine up in Breiðholt!
