Weekends, weekdays and workdays

Sunday:
My mum's birthday - nice to see everyone! We also visited Dóra and Kári's birthdayparty briefly (as well as seeing Gummi, Lilja, Lára and Theódór).
Monday:
Spent with the kids at home!
Tuesday:
A late night swim with the Eiríkur and Sandra... cold outside but worth the effort.
Wednesday:A Halloween party at ISI, nice do and good fun. Dinner with Bjössi and a group of friends afterwards. Great fish :) THX!!
Thursday is still in the planning stages!

Rain...

It rained so hard during my outdoor recess at the International School that I borrow huge Wellingtons and a neon coloured raincoat. Looked fab :)

A Swim with Sandra

As part of Vesturbæjarskóli "Health Week" Sandra got a free ticket to the swimming pool. And what better time to use than during a storm!!!! We enjoyed it very much.

Great Fun!

Party at the new house Helga and Einar bought was great fun! Live band and good company!

Then Saturday was spent on a surprise tour - first we went to a studio to record a song, then an orientation game, on to a fun dinner at Úlfljótsvatn and then back home after a great day!!!

"Samræmd Próf"

Both Sandra and Eiríkur are at this very moment sitting their National Tests for 4th and 7th grades. Icelandic test today and math tomorrow... they will be happy when the exams are over :)

Great Film!

Just came back from seeing the German/Turkish movie Auf der Anderen Seite (The Edge of Heaven). Much recommended :)

We spent a night at Skógar with Dóra, Gummi and their four children. Lovely, lovely lovely!

Positive Discipline

Most interesting meeting at ISI introducing Positive Discipline. I am a great believer in positive thinking, encouragment and non-conflict communications - so this is something I am ready to study closer :)

Stardust

Ehmm.... not as good as we hoped. Went with Sissa (Sigþrúður not Sigfríður!) to the movies (Stardust) after a nice meal at Bjössi's house. Loved the fish Bjössi :)

Húsafell!

Super nice weekend at Húsafell in beautiful weather. Very relaxing and great fun of course in excellent company!

The movie The Prisoner of the Mountains was very interesting with some beautiful landscape photography and cultural details from Dagestan. All that is left to do from the weekend is to enjoy some of the red wine that return with us back to Reykjavík :)

Fay Grim

I have finally been to this years Reykjavik Filmfestival! Rebekka was willing and able to look after the kids late night so there was not much choise of movies. But we did enjoy seeing Fay Grim, interesting story telling with some humour as well as a look at international politics!

Meeting with my fellow teachers at the International school at 2 o'clock

Meeting with the Parent Advisory Committee at Vesturbæjarskóli at 4 o'clock

Meeting with Parent Association at Vesturbæjarskóli at 6 o'clock

Tomorrow:
Meeting Sandra's teacher in the afternoon

Meeting Eiríkur's teacher, also in the afternoon
