Strange day:
Counting down to the holidays!
Today was spent at work - and organizing the trip to Spain! Bought lots of dog food for Birta to take with her to Grundarfjördur and sand and food for the cat - who will be looked after at Hringbraut. Lucky cat will have a sitter all to herself!
Lovely weekend - including:
Our Rakel is graduating from MH today - making all her "mothers" very proud! Congratulations Rakel - you are such a wonderful and special girl!
Sandra and her classmates read poetry for their parents - and it was so lovely to be there. Sandra's poem was "Erla, góða Erla" and she read it beautufully of course! Thanx everyone!
Rebekka and I got our school grades yesterday... and we were both very happy! I got 9 for my BEd thesis and Rebekka 8 out of her first year of Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík. To celebrate we went to the Pakistani restaurant Shalimar in centre of town and from there on to the movies. When we came home - late of course - we decided that poor Birta needed a walk so we drove to Geirsnef and walked around for a while. Nice evening.
Another BBQ - this time with Ellen Klara and family! Spent most of the day sleeping, reading and relaxing. Then on to the pool and to the nice dinner and chat into the night!
We spent the evening with my parents and Anna and her family. Kids enjoyed Eurovision and Sylvia Night!!! Great food at ususal, my dad is great with the BBQ. We drank some champagne to celebrate my BEd - and my further studies. All in all a good day.
We enjoyed Eiríkur's concert tremendously. Skólahljómsveit Vesturbæjar is doing good things and conducter Lárus Grímsson was on good form in his bright Hawaiian tee-shirt! My favorite song tonight was from Mary Poppins. Yes - absolutely - they played: Supercalafridgelisticexpialadotious!
Eirikur got an eight on his drumming test. He was sooooo pleased! And I am sooooo proud of him :o)
Eiríkur has his first drumming test today - he has been practicing hard in the past few days, great to hear him drumming away in his room. His sisters are not as pleased with the noise but they don't have a vote on this one.
Kids were wonderful yesterday and brought me breakfast in bed (cheerios, toast and orange juice - the tray decorated with flowers from the garden!) I feel so spoilt this month :o) I spent the day working on the computer asignment for Kennó - last one! - and the kids visited their cousins. The kids invited me out for dinner in the evening to Café Viktor and a nice time was had by all involved.
Just sent in the final project for my B.Ed degree and at the same time opened the envelope from Kennó with an admission letter for the M.Ed programme, specializing in the multicultural classroom... Sooo happy!
It was great to see things work out after the long planning process :) Me and the other classmum from Sandra's class organized the BBQ - 400 hotdogs! David got the role of the BBQ chef, Eiríkur was inside the dragon and Sandra showed African dances with friends from her class. Very busy people.
Nice BBQ at my parents last night. Sandra spent the day with her grandparents being nursed back to health with lots of TLC. Nasty cold but hopefully she will get over it quickly.
What shall I study next?

Sooo enjoyed my weekend up north, lovely weather and good company. Perfect.
Hard to believe! Time is flying past me. Kids will be with David this weekend so I plan to get out of Reykjavík for a breath of fresh air and some rest.
At least it isn't snowing at the moment. The other sure sign of spring is to have someone sitting at home studying for exams - and thank got that someone is Rebekka and not me :o) She has been doing so well and I am bursting of pride. Will stop now before I bore you all to death with tales of my wonderful children...
I have handed in my thesis - four long years of evening studies are coming to an end. After May 23rd it will be available for everyone to read at the KHÍ library. I hope it does not contain too many errors...
We spent the International Day of the Workers at home - working in the garden. We shifted a lot of stuff, leaves, branches of treas and unwanted plants. Sandra was my main helper in the garden, Rebekka studied hard for her maths' exam and Eirikur did some school work as well as practicing drums. We all worked hard!
