My wonderful kids :)

We have just had the parent-teacher interviews at Vesturbæjarskóli and the teachers were very postitive and happy with the kids progress and behaviour. They are such great kids :)

Eiríkur has been ill lately but hopefully going to school tomorrow - Sandra is happy and bouncing around, did her ballet today with Silja and enjoyed it very much.

Sunday walk

This time around Seltjarnanes :) Rain, rain, rain...

Again...

I am not joking. Just saw yet another movie. This time I went with Dora and we saw Little Children. Very interesting film, real food for thought.

Teaching!

I have been teaching everyday this week and enjoying myself a lot. Great kids and good fun to be with them.

My own kids are very busy and enjoying life - I will send in a little update later on!

Looking back I just need to say that Frida was really a superday for everyone. Rebekka invited her friends home for a dinnerparty and I went with Dora to the theatre. We saw "Ísland - best í heimi" and enjoyed it very much. I spent the second half of the evening at Ellen Klara's house. She has done so much work on the house and it is looking great!

Reykholt

Lovely weekends at Reykholt with the Guide Association. So much to learn about Reykholt and Snorri Sturluson.

Fosshótel was comfortable and the food great!

Bekka's Birthdaypresent!

Tanya and Lárus had their new baby girl yesterday on Rebekka's birthday. Tanya rang us in the evening and we were full of joy on their behalf. There are only great girls born on this day ;)

The outdoors in the snow!

I have spent a lot of time outdoors lately. Shoveling snow was one of the projects but also long walks and even outdoor swimming! The kids just love all the snow and could not be happier. They also got to see a movie yesterday (Happy Feet) ending with a dinner at amma and afi's house.

Other than that I am busy with school...

Saturday

Morning: before 12 o'clock I managed to make porrage for the kids, take them to English school, do my shopping in Bonus and put all the stuff away, buy a shovel in Byko and clear all the snow in the driveway and then pick up the kids.

Afternoon was spent taking Sandra to church, having a coffee at the Pearl, then dinner at my parents house.

Evening... well. Went to a party and enjoyed it very much.

Sunday

Two hikes in one day! Lovely, lovely snow. Dinner with my parents and everyone happy.

Monday

School all day, talking about religious studies. Lovely lunch with my schoolfriend Ingibjörg, then ballet for Sandra and then on to cooking dinner for the family.

Tomorrow is another day :)

The Survivor!

I survived my first day of teaching...

Had to get some kids down from the curtains and lampshades but no one got hurt...

Another day of teaching tomorrow...

Will be very interesting :)

Teaching

Tomorrow and Friday I will be teaching a bunch of 10 year olds at Hofstaðaskóli as a substitute teacher. 20 kids, at least 5 with ADDH. Wish me luck....

One More Movie!

Monday was another movie day - this time my mother and I went to see Little Miss Sunshine. We laughed and laughed. Highly recommended by both of us.

Sundaynight was another movie night - this time Children of Men.

The Weekend

Lovely relaxed weekend. Swimming and coffeeshop - and then cinema with Rebekka yesterday and a nice walk in Elliðaárdalur and coffee at the Pearl today.

The movie was good - we saw Stranger than Fiction and we both enjoyed it very much :)

Friday

We all went to school this morning. Still a bit tired but it was an easier morning than yesterday! We might get used to this again :)

Friday evening spent at home - a calm weekend ahead.

Back to School

We were all very tired this morning but had a nice day anyway! School was good for everyone - and we enjoyed having a meal at Vesturberg in the evening with the usual suspects :)

Last Day of the Xmas Vacation

We had a lovely day - slept late and had a good breakfast.

Eiríkur went to play golf with afi Eiríkur and really liked it and Sandra played with Silja at amma's house.

I walked Birta at Rauðhólar and then drove Eiríkur to his friend Kjartan's house for a birthdayparty! Happy 12th birthday Kjartan :)

Concert Night and New Year's Eve!

Rebekka and I went to a concert last Friday with "Sálin hans Jóns míns" and the Icelandic Gospel Choir. We had a super evening enjoying the concert from the best possible seats. A nice end to 2006 for the two of us.

New Year's Eve was spent with my parents as well as Albert, Emma and sons. We were the lucky ones enjoying smoked lamb from Jökuldalur (Glacier Valley in the East) and Suðurey (the South Island by the Westman Icelands). Delicious!

Then a great party at Vesturberg, not returning home until 2 in the morning :)
