Five in the morning and we are on our way to meet our guides. I am up but not awake at that point! I managed to leave my "climing" belt behind on my pillow.... (the one that is used for the safety rope) but I got a "race car" driver to get me to the overnight hut (also known as
THE Base Camp!) and back in five secods flat! And NO - I did not sleep in the belt for added security, I was just reorganizing my backpack before waking up properly :)

Looking happy and hopeful at the beginning of the hike - I am waking up at this point :)

And the brilliant hike starts in the slight drizzle...

... and continues in a some fog and fresh snow...

When we come to the edge of the glacier I am happy to have my belt with me 'cause it time that we get in a line for the main part of the journey.

By this time I am wide awake and very excited about the hike on the glacier :)

And we walk on and on and on ... and I am still smiling!

And guess what her I am keeping that silly grin on my face even though the mountain seems to be endless at this point!

To our amazement we walk out of the cloud and enjoy this beautiful view to the peak - 2111 m high!

I simply loved the glacier and the view.

And we make it to the top!!!!!

My wonderful walking partners, through rain and shine, for better or for worse, in sickness and in health, on we walk together ;)

And here is the photographer on top of the world!!

The glacier was full of cracks so we had to practice the art of jumping!

End of the glacier trail - and just imagine - we are all still smiling :)
Takk fyrir myndirnar Hermann, erfitt að velja á milli, þær voru allar mjög góðar :)
